Troubleshooting: something is not working

Start on the Connect page. It shows every kind of agent you have set up, which windows are here right now, and under Local services whether the console and the tunnel are running. Most problems are visible there.

An agent does not answer questions about the project

  • Ask it something that needs Naetive: "What's my current focus?" A connected agent answers with your project. If it does not, the connector is missing or its URL is stale.
  • You regenerated your key. Every agent stops until it has the new one. Claude Code: re-run the installer. ChatGPT, Claude on the web, Claude Desktop: paste the new URL from Connect into the connector. Codex: update the config block.
  • Claude Code: run /mcp and check naetive is listed and connected.

Connect says the console is stopped, but it is running

Connect reads what the console reported in the last three minutes. If you just started it, wait a moment. If it stays "stopped", the console is not talking to Naetive: restart it with the command shown on the Chats page.

The Chats page says nothing is installed

Install from Connect on this computer. Agents run on the machine that has the console; another computer needs its own install.

A chat agent cannot see my files

Chat agents reach your machine only through the tunnel. Start it inside the project folder (~/.naetive/start-tunnel.sh) and check Connect shows it running. If the agent's reply says no tunnel is connected for your account, it is not running; if it refuses naming two folders, two tunnels are open and neither is tagged for this project. A call failed a moment ago and works now

Naetive deploys several times a day. The tunnel reconnects within seconds and a window's connection comes back on its own; a call in that window can fail once. Nothing to do.

An agent is not recording anything

Ask it to call get_bootstrap again; the rules for how to work on Naetive are there. If a job stays a draft while the agent codes, ask it to move the job to building and post an update.
